The ANDAR Twistset package to package setting system
takes yarn (singles or folded) from the spinning or twister bobbins
and coils it into a blanket, which is then passed through a series
of baths where it is scoured, chemically set, rinsed and finally
insect proofed. It is then dried, still in the form of a continuous
coiled blanket and the separate ends unwound from the coil and wound
onto packages ready for the tufting creel.
The labour intensive steps of hanking, handling individual hanks
through the scouring, setting and drying stages and back winding
are all avoided, providing appreciable economical advantages. In
addition, the uniform density and feed rate of the coiled blanket
makes the wet processing and drying steps easy to control, giving
uniformity of treatment, residual levels, regain and colour in the
finished yarn. |
